We are happy to show some of the improvements we have made on our 2 bedroom condo (H-10) in the past few weeks.
New carpet throughout the whole condo, including the master bedroom.

This is the loft with the new carpet.  New furniture here is still on our 'short list'. But it still works out great with the extra sleeping space in the hide-a-bed.
A view of the master bedroom from the loft.

This is the lower level second bedroom with 2 queen sized beds.  We are especially happy to have new carpet in here!  The old red carpet was just a little too much!  :o)
New small table in the kitchen.  We took down the old red checkered wallpaper and painted a nice sandy color here and above the counters.
Views of the main living room.  This set of furniture not only looks much better but is much more comfortable!  Each sofa includes two recliners!  Heavenly!
The new dining room table can help feed the rest of the troops!  We also painted the hutch, game cabinet and mirror to update the look.

We will not miss the red and blue carpet and furniture of days gone by.  It has been nice that we have had enough business with our condo to help us save up to make these improvements.  Thank you to all of our loyal renters.  And thank you for taking care of it while you are there.  We love being able to share this with all of you.
For those of you who have not seen what this all looked like before you can scroll down to earlier posts (Jan. 10, 2010)  for pictures.  We hope you all agree that the changes are all for the better.

"Pleasant Palms".....what's in a name?

For many years our extended Lee family had a cozy cabin in Fish Lake, UT. Built in 1950 under the direction of my late Grandfather (and namesake) Thomas Wilson Lee, it became an endeared part of the lives of Grandpa and Grandma Lee, their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nestled and hidden within a grove of pine trees, the cabin was given the very appropriate name of "Pleasant Pines".

My Father owned a small five-and-dime store (the kind of store that doesn't exist anymore in the age of WalMart and Target) in Ephraim, UT. As such he almost always worked 6 days a week and my family rarely went on vacations. However as summer, fishing season, and deer hunt approached, we all looked forward to our quick trips down to Fish Lake. After I married Kim, (yes we honeymooned there! :)), and as our family grew, we continued the tradition of visiting the cabin once or twice each summer.

Unfortunately some years ago for a variety of reasons, my Dad, Uncles and Aunt had to make the difficult decision to sell the cabin (fortunately my cousin Lance was able to purchase it and we are happy that it still lives on in his branch of the family tree). Since then our family has had to begin new traditions, but in the process we've had the opportunity in our travels to see and explore more of what our great state of Utah has to offer.

One destination we found ourselves returning to time and time again was St. George. Whether to run the marathon or other races, visit nearby national and state parks, or just as a midway point on our way to Southern California, we enjoyed making visits to Utah's Dixie multiple times throughout the year. So when the opportunity came for us to purchase a condo at Sports Village, we jumped at the chance and have since been thoroughly enjoying our frequent getaway excursions to sunny St. George and our home-away-from-home.

In hindsight, the name "Pleasant Palms" is the perfect and maybe obvious choice for our new family retreat. However to give credit where it is due I must give my brother Steven the kudos for first suggesting the name.

As much as we enjoy going to the condo, life in the real world means we can't go as often as we would like. But we figured our loss might as well be someone else's gain, so we made the decision to rent out the condo during those times when we aren't there. We look forward to many years of enjoyment and memories with family and friends at Pleasant Palms. We also look forward to making new friends among our guests and will do all that we can to make your stay at Pleasant Palms a wonderful experience!
